CANDLE CARE

TIPS FOR BURNING YOUR LSB CANDLE...

TOOLS:

Snag a wick trimmer, long lighter, and snuffer for best results! Cheap but honestly essential.

If you can only get one always choose the

WICK TRIMMER.

TIPS:

*Never, ever, ever burn a cold candle. I know it is tempting to light up a candle fresh out of the shipping box during the winter but resist. A cold candle's fragrance is inert. Hot throw will be weak and the candle will tunnel.

*Burn your new (room temperature) candle at least 2-3 hours the first time you light it. Wax has a memory and if you start out wrong unfortunately it will continue to burn in the same pattern. 2-3 hours allows the entire top layer of wax to liquify and promote a clean burn that doesn't waste wax. This prevents tunneling of your candle and waste of your investment.

*Do not leave a burning candle unsupervised or surrounded by flammable objects. Keep candles away from the wall or anywhere kids and pets could possibly knock them over. Make sure you place your new candle on a heat safe surface away from drafts that could shift the flame.

*Do not burn over four hours at a time. A hot jar is hazardous. The vessel can crack and/or explode. The flame tends to get dangerously high + produces soot when lit more than four hours as well. Safety first!

*Use a snuffer to put out your candle. Keeping your face away from flame and wax is always a good idea.

*If bits of the burnt wooden wick are in the wax just scrape them from the top of the solidified wax before relighting. If some comes off when trimming, just remove with your finger or paper towel. This extra bit of care keeps the wax pure and prevents the smell of charred wood.

*If despite your best efforts you experience tunneling or a smoky wick with soot, don't throw out your candle! Invest in a wax warmer and save your problem candle by gently heating the wax. This is also a lovely option for folks who have little ones afoot or like to enjoy the aroma of a candle all day long. A candle warmer will help you get the most out of every last bit of wax.

COVID19 UPDATE

Please keep in mind that LSB is a single maker small business that does not operate from home. During this period of social distancing and isolation shipping days are more fluid. USPS pick ups are 1 or 2 days a week. I value your support but also value my health. Thank you sincerely for understanding.
