April was my birthday month and those of you who have been rocking with LSB for years know, it is my favorite time of the year. Typically I go somewhere grand for an amazing trip with my sister. This year Miss Rona had different plans! I made a few different candle scents to commemorate my past birthday destinations.
Colorful and bright. Bustling and lush. Rainbow colored dwellings, narrow cobblestone streets, and a faint sea breeze. Electric blue sky. Churches with beaming newlyweds rushing out. Drums. Dancing until you sweat (more.) Palm trees and late night dinners jammed with fresh fish and vegetables. Cold beer. Long laughs.
A modern blend of ripe pineapple brightened with freshly picked cilantro paired with mashed banana, coconut milk, and a hint of sweet star anise. Juicy orange nectar elevates this blend to pure bliss.
Hand poured, crackling spiral wood wick, vegan wax blend. 7 oz = 25-30 hours of burn time.
Tips for getting the most of your candle...
*Burn your new candle at least 2 hours the first time you light it. (After trimming the wick to 1/4-1/8 of an inch, a little nub - seriously, that short.) This will allow the entire top layer of wax to liquify and promote a clean burn that doesn't waste wax. This prevents tunneling of your candle. Wax has a memory so start off right!
*Do not leave a burning candle unsupervised, near kiddos, or surrounded by flammable objects. I also keep my candles away from the wall. Do not burn over four hours at a time. Safety first!
*Before relighting your candle trim.the.wick. (Every time.) I cannot overstate the importance of this! The correct length is 1/4-1/8 of an inch. I snagged a handy wick trimmer for just this purpose. Seriously such a crucial item for preventing soot and prolonging candle life. You can also use scissors so don't let lack of a wick trimmer stop you.
