This gorgeous candle is an homage to our beloved ancestor, James Baldwin. Sultry and mysterious. Smoky and sure.
This complex blend of cedar smoke, cardamom, black pepper, oud, sandalwood, eucalyptus, vanilla, incense, and patchouli is cozy and comforting. Perfect for dusky evenings spent reading on the couch filled with contentment.
Hand poured, flat wooden wick, luxury vegan wax blend, phthalate free fragrance oil. 14 oz = 60-65 hours of burn time. This is a large candle housed in a reusable matte black vessel. (This candle was previously offered in smoke black and olive green but we're rolling with the coronavirus supply chain and switching things up this go round!)
The flat wooden wick creates a softly crackling flame. Unique and comforting.
This matte black vessel is begging to be used again and again. After depleting your candle fill the cleaned container with pens, palo santo, make up brushes, or a potted plant.
Tips for getting the most of your candle...
*Burn your new candle at least 2 hours the first time you light it. (AFTER trimming the wick to 1/4-1/8 of an inch, a little nub - seriously, that short.) This will allow the entire top layer of wax to liquify and promote a clean burn that doesn't waste wax. This prevents tunneling of your candle. Wax has a memory so start off right!
*Do not leave a burning candle unsupervised, near kiddos, or surrounded by flammable objects. I also keep my candles away from the wall. Do not burn over four hours at a time. Safety first!
*Before relighting your candle trim.the.wick. (Every time.) I cannot overstate the importance of this! The correct length is 1/4-1/8 of an inch. I snagged a handy wick trimmer for just this purpose. (Shown in photos but not included.) Seriously such a crucial item for preventing soot and prolonging candle life. You can also use scissors or break the charred portion off before relighting so don't let lack of a wick trimmer stop you.
